Good bright, deep ruby.  Rather high-toned, chocolatey-ripe aromas of cherry jam, prune, mocha and licorice; reminded me of Amarone.  Supple and sweet on entry, but with disjointed acidity and limited refinement to its rather ripe black fruit and herb flavors.  This big, broad wine finishes a bit hard-edged, with substantial tannins and peppery and roasted fruit qualities.
