Smooooooth.........

Velour like quallity is an understatement. Nose is fantastic, the violets, blueberries, etc......but in the mouth not a powerpacked muddy jolt to the senses that some syrahs and petites can be. This is subtle, clean and oh so smooth.......
Amazing Petite Sirah!

Wow! I just had to have one of these to see where the wine is now while the rest get some cellar time. The wine is deep purple/black to the rim. Intense smoky nose of blackberries and purple fruit which carries into the rich palate. Lots of glycerine. Velour-like mouth feel. Long smooth finish with evident but smooth tannin. A beautiful wine. I'll bet this makes my tongue black! I wonder how it will develop over the next 3-4 years. Probably really a 4.5 now, but I'll bet it gets to a real five. This is really remarkable!
inconsistently good....

Have opened 4 bottle so far. 2 of four were 4.5 stars....2 went down the drain. Handing issues? I don't know. I maintain a consistent 58 deg.
Update: Last three bottles were excellent. This has become a go to wine with steaks or bold dinners. Everyone loves this one when it isn't corked.
Updated to 4 stars.
Three has become one of my favorite properties. Have several of their wines in the cellar.
Very good Petite Syrah

Very nice. It mellowed and was much smoother after it aerated for an hour.
Wish we had several more bottles for our cellar.
What a buy!

This Petite Sirah is a dark purple beauty with a wonderful nose. I loved it and at roughly $18/bottle, its was an exceptional buy. I am very pleased!
Nothing petite in this sirah

Was e'er a grape so misleadingly named? The petite in sirah of course refers to the size, but the inference is all too easily taken to reflect its power. In that regard, it is not petite at all. Extract is my one-word response to this wine. Dense color, like blackcurrant juice, dark bubbles play on the surface. Fairly muted on the nose perhaps, but explosive on the palate: jammy, jammy, masses of ripe fruit, bit concerned about the balance here, some mellowing in order. We will wait and see.
young and edgy

We tried our first bottle last night. At first opening, there were a lot of sharp tannins. We tried aerating with a venturi and we lost too much flavor. After sitting in a glass for a few minutes it settled out to be a nice wine to go with BLTs
Jamberry juice

Over extracted, jammy, and monolithic. Not a style I enjoy.
Didn't make the trip

After the third bottle was opened I realized that this case either went bad with shipping or it was the first miss after a stellar run of 3 wines. Should I hope the other bottles are better or accept the fact that I will have cooking wine for years.
