Founded in 1973 by Tom Dehlinger, a UC Davis graduate, Dehlinger Winery has a rep for quality not quantity. Production here has topped out at about 7,000 cases per vintage, a figure that has risen steadily since the initial 14 acres were planted in 1975.

Opaque ruby.  Alluring aromas of cassis, cherry compote, Indian spices, iron and graphite, with a vanilla nuance that builds with air.  A deep, youthfully structured wine that offers sweet red and dark fruit flavors laced with mocha, cola and vanilla.  Concentrated and fleshy but comes across as lively, finishing with very good lift and vibrancy.
