Good bright, dark ruby-red.  Musky raspberry, strawberry and vanilla aromas are complicated by a high-pitched violet nuance.  Rich and dense but lively too, with sound acidity framing the deep, thick dark berry and cocoa flavors.  Shows more intensity and depth than the basic Fleur de Bouard bottling.  Finishes with a firm dusting of tannins and good length, but this confirms my impression at the Primeurs that the wine is much less tannic than usual--a very good thing.  The label also carries the name "CuvĂ©e Oscar" in honor of Hubert de Bouard's young grandson.
