More About This Wine
In 1977, David Graves and Richard Ward met for the first time in a oenology class at UC Davis. Both Pinot Noir lovers, they decided to start bottling their own. By 1981 they had released their first vintage, 2000 cases from purchased Carneros grapes.

Good medium red. Nuanced, expressive nose offers black cherry, raspberry, mocha, cola and underbrush. Spicy, silky and fine-grained, with intriguing saline soil tones contributing complexity. A very nicely balanced midweight with youthfully medicinal flavors and very suave tannins. I'd hold this for a year or so before pulling the cork.
