About Saintsbury
In 1977, David Graves and Richard Ward met for the first time in a oenology class at UC Davis. Both Pinot Noir lovers, they decided to start bottling their own. By 1981 they had released their first vintage, 2000 cases from purchased Carneros grapes.

(14.5% alcohol): Good bright, dark red, the deepest color of these pinots. Deep, soil-driven aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, chocolate, mocha and wild herbs. Dense, sweet, tangy and deep, with very ripe raspberry and chocolate flavors that come across as chewy and serious. Finishes with substantial dusty but sweet tannins and subtly building perfume.
