(50% syrah, 30% carignan and 20% malbec, all raised in 100% new French oak):  Opaque ruby.  Sexy, oak-spiced red and dark berry aromas show impressive power and pick up smoke and vanilla qualities with air.  Supple and expansive, offering gently sweet black raspberry and cherry compote flavors and a supple texture.  Finishes pliant and spicy, with lingering notes of star anise and dark fruits.
