Pale, green-tinged straw.  A complex, intensely perfumed bouquet evokes poached pear, nectarine and honey, with vanilla and iodine accents.  Deeply pitched pit and orchard fruit flavors show surprising vivacity, with zesty minerality adding back-end lift and bite.  A smoky note comes up with air and carries through the long, sappy finish.  This wine reminds me a lot of a high-end white Bordeaux.
