Inky purple. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by licorice and dark chocolate nuances. Ripe and fleshy but lively, offering sweet blackberry and blueberry flavors that coat the palate. Tannins arrive late on the finish, which leaves spicy dark fruit preserve and floral notes behind. This is a pretty suave rendition of the variety. (JR)
