About Chateau La Tour Blanche
School's in session at La Tour Blanche. The wines here are produced at the local Ecole de Viticulture et Oenologie, and the estate itself has been owned by the French Ministry of Agriculture since 1911.
90-93 Points | International Wine Cellar , July 2012
(84% semillon, 12% sauvignon blanc and 4% muscadelle; 3.78 pH; 5.7 g/l total acidity; 135 g/l residual sugar): Very light, bright yellow with gold highlights. Vibrant aromas of white peach and kiwi complicated by marzipan and green papaya. Then spicier on the palate, with richer flavors of peppery apricot and peach jelly joined by enticing mineral tones on the long finish. This is a lighter-styled La Tour Blanche (the color tells you so from the start) made from very low yield of 9 hectoliters per hectare, as this estate was heavily hit by the April hail.
