About Beckmen Vineyards

When winemaker Steve Beckmen returned from Italy in 1997, he was convinced that his family's recently purchased hillside in Santa Barbara County would be perfect for growing Rhône varietals. His father Tom was skeptical, but since then, Purisima Mountain Vineyard has established itself as one of the finest sources of Syrah and Grenache in the Central Coast.

Deep ruby.  An assertively perfumed bouquet evokes black raspberry, cola and Asian spices, with a suave floral quality and a touch of smokiness.  Sappy and precise on the palate, offering intense red fruit and floral pastille flavors underscored by tangy minerality.  Spicy and seamless on the finish, which leaves floral and red fruit compote notes behind.

A Passion for Purisima

Beckmen has pulled yet masterpiece from the Purisima mountains. As young as this wine is, it is fantastic right now but it wil be even better in a few years. The nose has a floral bouquet that is striking. If they made it into an air freshener, I would be first in line to buy it! Its an outstanding wine and highly recommended. For my taste,93/A.
