About Louis Michel & Fils
In six generations of winemaking here in Chablis, the Michel family has developed a no nonsense approach. You won't find the distracting presence of oak in these immaculate Chardonnays, because no wood is used in their cellaring.
2011 Louis Michel & Fils Chablis Butteaux
Producer: Louis Michel & Fils
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
87-90 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2012
Vibrant aromas of lemon and lime. Richer and more open-knit in the mouth than the Forets, with ripe peach fruit flavor energized by anise, stone and quinine elements. Nicely dusty and rich, but can't quite match the Forets for tension or precision. Finishes with good persistence but will need further elevage to harmonize.
