More About This Wine
About Domaine Francois Raveneau
Named for its original proprietor, who, sadly, left us in 2000, Domaine Francois Raveneau is a goliath in Chablis. Raveneau's two sons, Bernard & Jean-Marc, now continue the family tradition, maintaining a commitment to natural wine.
2011 Domaine Francois Raveneau Chablis Blanchots
Producer: Domaine Francois Raveneau
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
91-93 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2012
Brilliant pale yellow. Musky aromas of grapefruit and quinine, plus a suggestion of riper yellow fruits. Broad and tactile but light on its feet, with juicy yellow peach and saline flavors nicely framed by integrated acidity. The dusty finish comes across as a bit dry. Not yet showing a lot of personality, and in need of more elevage.
