More About This Wine
About Domaine Francois Raveneau
Named for its original proprietor, who, sadly, left us in 2000, Domaine Francois Raveneau is a goliath in Chablis. Raveneau's two sons, Bernard & Jean-Marc, now continue the family tradition, maintaining a commitment to natural wine.
2011 Domaine Francois Raveneau Chablis Clos
Producer: Domaine Francois Raveneau
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
92-95 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2012
Bright yellow. Musky, reticent aromas of grapefruit and dried herbs. Silky on entry, then dense and fat in the middle if a bit youthfully reduced. Plenty of volume here but downright enigmatic today, hiding more than it's showing. Finishes uncompromisingly dry, with strong saline minerality and a peppery nuance.
