Medium red.  Musky, spice-accented aromas of dried cherry and licorice, with subtle anise and floral nuances building with air.  Juicy and refreshingly bitter, offering sappy red fruit flavors and gentle bracing acidity.  Soft tannins give shape to the long, smoky, penetrating finish.  This wine drinks very nicely right now, especially with some aeration.
