About Chehalem

Almost thirty years ago Harry Peterson-Nedry began scouting potential vineyard locations in Oregon's burgeoning wine country. He soon discovered what's now called Ribbon Ridge, an ancient, uniform sedimentary hillside at the extreme western end of the Chehalem Mountains. There, he planted the Ridgecrest Vineyard, Chehalem's oldest, in 1982.

(14.6% alcohol):  Bright ruby-red.  Ripe raspberry and cherry on the perfumed nose.  Lush and expansive, offering densely packed red fruit compote flavors that become brighter and spicier with air.  A spicy note comes up on the clinging finish, which shows a seamless, fleshy character.  This hefty pinot would work well with rich red meat dishes or strong cheeses.
