(100% cabernet franc):  Deep ruby-red.  Pungent red cherry and strawberry aromas are lifted by exotic spice notes of nutmeg, cilantro, sandalwood and bay leaf.  Juicy and sharply delineated, with firm, ripe acidity and a strong spicy core lifting the rich red fruit and oak flavors.  The long finish features peppery tannins and harmonious acidity.  A bit more flesh and this wine would have rated an even higher score:  I wonder if the very hot vintage made it difficult for the fruit to achieve optimal phenolic maturity.  Still, this is borderline outstanding wine.  Be sure to give it a couple hours in a decanter if you plan to serve it anytime soon.
