Bright, full ruby. Restrained aromas of redcurrant, red cherry, licorice and black pepper; conveys a distinctly rocky, mineral aspect. Juicy and creamy sweet, with very pure flavors of raspberry and licorice pastille. Intense but not particularly sweet, with the licorice quality complemented by a strong mineral tang. Finishes quite firm and very long. This is a very serious, outstanding Montevertine.
