(includes 10% merlot):  Opaque ruby.  Dark berries, cracked pepper and pipe tobacco on the fragrant nose.  The palate offers spicy cassis and bitter cherry flavors, along with notes of mocha and dark chocolate.  Tangy acidity adds lift to the finish, which features supple tannins and lingering smokiness.
