Inky ruby.  Smoke-accented cherry, cassis and blueberry on the nose, with hints of olive, violet and dark chocolate.   Big, palate-coating and chewy, with good depth to its dark berry and floral pastille flavors.  Shows alluring sweetness on the finish, with supple tannins adding support and shape.  More fleshy and open-knit than the Saint-Joseph Vieilles Vignes, which will likely outlive this wine.
