(sourced mostly from ungrafted tempranillo vines that are reportedly almost a century old; fermented in concrete and aged for roughly 20 months in second- and third-use French oak barrels):  Glass-staining ruby.  Sexy, perfumed aromas of cherry compote and dark berry liqueur, with allspice, anise and mocha nuances building with air.  Smooth and seamless in texture, with deep blackberry and candied violet flavors lifted and sharpened by tangy acidity.  Blends richness and vivacity smoothly and finishes with excellent clarity and spicy persistence.
