93 Points | International Wine Cellar , September/October 2012

(malo in new French oak followed by 18 months of aging in new French oak):  Vivid purple.  Penetrating, highly perfumed aromas of sappy dark berries, potpourri and minerals, with a spicy topnote.  Offers deep, palate-staining black raspberry and cherry flavors that are given spine by juicy acidity.  Closes long and sweet, with pungent mineral and floral notes lingering on the subtly tannic finish.  I also had the chance to retaste the 2009 version of this wine and it seems to have actually gained in vivacity over the last 12 months.  Enjoyable now for its flamboyant character, but I'd let mine rest for at least a few more years.
