95 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September/October 2012

(14.5% alcohol, compared to the 15% of the 2010):  Opaque violet color.  Vibrant aromas of black raspberry, licorice and candied violet, with intense mineral and allspice accents.  Then dense, deep and utterly palate-staining, offering powerful yet energetic flavors of blackberry preserves, licorice, smoky minerals and candied flowers.  Closes with superb persistence and finishing perfume, betraying just a hint of tannins.
