Vivid ruby.  Heady, primary aromas of black and blue fruits, peppery spices and smoky minerals.  The palate offers lively blueberry and cherry-cola flavors underscored by a strong graphite quality.  Soft tannins give shape to the finish without distracting from the opulent fruit, which clings impressively to the palate.  I find this extroverted wine surprisingly approachable now.
