(50% monastrell, 25% tempranillo and 25% cabernet sauvignon, aged in new French and American oak for 12 months): Inky purple. Powerful, oak-spiced aromas of cherry compote, cassis and vanilla, with a smoky overtone. Lush and creamy in texture, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and a strong cherry-vanilla quality. Finishes smooth and sweet, with lingering vanilla and coconut qualities. Lots of hefty fruit here but the oak holds my score down.
