About Au Bon Climat
Since it was founded in 1982, Au Bon Climat has been a well respected producer of Burgundian-styled California wines. Jim Clendenen's Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are mineral, focused and restrained in the early going, and sometimes quite oaky.
2010 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County
Producer: Au Bon Climat
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Pinot Noir
Origin: California
Region: Central Coast
Appellation: Santa Barbara
88(+?) Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2012
Dark red. Musky, spice-accented aromas of redcurrant and cherry, with a note of cured meat in the background. A chewy, tangy midweight that offers tangy red fruit qualities and touch of bitter chocolate. Somewhat ungiving right now, finishing with good energy and tightly wound red fruit character. Give this some air or age.
