2011 Domaine Albert Mann Gewurztraminer
Producer: Domaine Albert Mann
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Gewurztraminer
Origin: France
Region: Alsace
90 Points | International Wine Cellar , September 2012
Bright golden yellow. Explosive aromas of lichee, crystallized ginger, rose petal and brown spices. Round, balanced and refined, with ripe citrus and mango flavors complicated by a hint of smoked meat. The long, bright finish magically combines richness and freshness. This is recognizably made from Altenbourg grapes, from the Mann's own massale selection (it is officially certified and sold with their name), which does extremely well in warmer vintages such as 2011. Much better than the 2008 and 2009 versions.
