About Domaine Dirler-Cade
Founded in 1871 by one Jean Dirler in southern Alsace, this family-owned domain is now run, five generations later, by another Jean Dirler. Though it bottles Pinot Noir, the domain is best known for its dry, classically structured, mineral-rich white Alsace varietals.

Grape Type: Pinot Blanc
Origin: France
Region: Alsace
90 Points | International Wine Cellar , September 2012
(100% pinot blanc): Pale straw-green. Delicate aromas of white peach, apricot and yellow plum. Enters the mouth suave and thick, but this very rich wine retains focus thanks to harmonious acidity, which provides lift and precision to the flavors of sweet waxy pear and white flowers (this has about 6 g/l residual sugar). Clean, long and very well done: outstanding pinot blanc. These vines were planted in 1965 on heavy clay-sandstone soils.
