About Domaine Dirler-Cade
Founded in 1871 by one Jean Dirler in southern Alsace, this family-owned domain is now run, five generations later, by another Jean Dirler. Though it bottles Pinot Noir, the domain is best known for its dry, classically structured, mineral-rich white Alsace varietals.
2010 Domaine Dirler-Cade Pinot Blanc Cuvee Vieilles Vignes
Producer: Domaine Dirler-Cade
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Pinot Blanc
Origin: France
Region: Alsace
90 Points | International Wine Cellar , September 2012
Full yellow with a gold tinge. Exotic but very pure aromas and flavors of acacia honey, strawberry and poached pear. Shows a hint of residual sweetness, but healthy acidity gives the wine good cut and a firm edge. The finish is long, clean and brightly acidic, helping to hide the 24 g/l residual sugar. Outstanding pinot blanc.
