2011 Domaine Leon Beyer Gewurztraminer Comtes d'Eguisheim
Producer: Domaine Leon Beyer
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Gewurztraminer
Origin: France
Region: Alsace
94(+?) Points | International Wine Cellar , September 2012
Pale straw yellow color. Complex, subtly cool aromas of grapefruit, mirabelle, citrus peel, white flowers, and minerals. Then dense, juicy and fresh, with a spherical texture and complex flavors of tropical fruits, mint and white pepper, along with a bright mineral overlay. Boasts wonderfully harmonious acidity, with a strong lemon zest and chlorophyll nuance echoing long on the minerally, very pure finish. Only 4 g/l residual sugar for this classically dry wine, and 5.6 g/l total acidity. Another great Comtes d'Eguisheim gewurz, made from grapes grown in the Eichberg cru, one of the greatest of all for this variety in Alsace.
