(50% auxerrois and 50% blanc; vines averaging 50 years old):  Pale straw-yellow.  White peach, Golden Delicious apple and beeswax on the varietally accurate nose and palate.  Fresh and delicious in the mouth, then long and almost sweet on the smooth finish, showing lingering peach and apricot nuances.  These vines are planted in an area with thin topsoil and granite-rich rocky subsoil, where water drainage is very strong, and so the vines usually suffer in hot years like 2011.  So this has to be considered a major success for Boxler, whose pinot blancs I have long admired.
