Medium dark red; slightly deeper than the Clos de la Faille.  Deep aromas of underbrush and minerals complicate cinnamon and strawberry on the nose.  Enters the mouth fatter and sweeter than the Clos de la Faille, showing good fruit and mineral intensity, then turns tight and austere on the back half.  This will need a good five years more in the bottle before it becomes fully approachable.   Finishes brisk and clean, with persistent saline nuances.  The Grand H has been vinified on its own since 2000, from parcels situated on rich soils in '75 and '77.
