About Domaine Zind Humbrecht
The properties of Zenon Humbrecht and Emile Zind merged in 1959 to form Zind-Humbrecht. The domaine now covers 40 hectares in five villages in the Haut-Rhin; its best parcels from four Grand Cru vineyards: Brand, Hengst, Goldert, and Clos St. Urbain on the steep slopes of Rangen.

Pale straw-gold. Rather exotic aromas of orange and lime blossom, apricot and honey, with suggestions of tropical fruits. Concentrated and moderately sweet, but given shape by firm acidity and some unabsorbed CO2. Nicely dry toward the back end, displaying a strong saline minerality. Shows more extract than real eclat, but finishes concentrated, tactile, saline and persistent--and nicely dry. Am I underrating this? (ST)
