About Laurel Glen Vineyard
The precious 3-acre parcel that gave birth to Laurel Glen Vineyard was first planted by German immigrants back in 1880. But it was Patrick Campbell who rediscovered the plot in 1974 and set to work expanding the vineyard to its current size of 16 acres.
2009 Laurel Glen Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Mountain
Producer: Laurel Glen Vineyard
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Origin: California
Region: Sonoma
93 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2013
Deep ruby. Intense, smoke- and spice-accented dark fruit and licorice scents are enlivened by a sexy floral nuance. Chewy, penetrating cherry and cassis flavors show impressive depth and power and pick up a cola note with air. Dusty tannins give grip to a long, sweet, focused finish. This cabernet, which is now made under the oversight of David Ramey, should age slowly and gracefully. (JR)
