About Alban Vineyards
John Alban makes some of the most aromatically complex and explosively rich wines in the New World from traditional Rhone varieties. Since 1989 he’s worked entirely with fruit from his own superb clonal material, planted on chalk-rich hillside vineyards in Edna Valley.

(95% syrah, 4% mourvedre and 1% viognier): Inky purple. Heady, exotic bouquet combines dark berry, incense and floral qualities. Sweet black raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors show impressive depth and energy, with a sexy violet pastille nuance emerging with air. Smoky Indian spices build on the long, juicy finish, which is nicely framed by gentle, fully absorbed tannins.
