(62% sauvignon blanc and 38% semillon; aged in 65% new oak): Bright yellow-gold. Knockout nose combines lemon drop, mirabelle, underbrush and botanical herbs, with some honey and guava notes from the semillon. Silky and suave yet gripping too, conveying an impression of outstanding intensity without weight. Captivating flavors of lemon zest, honey and dried herbs are lifted by a sexy floral quality. Finishes firm, classically dry and very long. A great vintage for this bottling. Winemaker Upchurch noted that he's using a bit more CO2 these days but less SO2. This wine could do major damage in a blind flight with some high-end Bordeaux whites.
