Bright purple.  Spice-accented aromas of dark berries and violet, with a smoky topnote.  Tangy and focused on the palate, boasting very good definition to its blackberry and bitter cherry flavors.  Closes on a peppery note, with good mineral cut and lift and very soft tannins.  This is drinking well now.
