Deep ruby.  Ripe cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by notes of candied licorice and violet.  Powerful, even brooding for the vintage, offering intense cassis and bitter cherry flavors that become spicier with air.  Finishes warm and long, with supple tannins adding grip.
