Bright ruby.  Energetic aromas of fresh red fruits, potpourri, white pepper and allspice gain power with air and pick up a note of licorice.  Lively and precise on the palate, offering sappy raspberry and floral pastille flavors and a hint of orange zest.  Shows very good focus and lift on the sweet, seamless finish, with a trail of spice and mineral notes.  This is a pretty impressive effort for an entry-level bottling.
