(67% syrah, 17% mourvedre and 16% grenache):  Inky purple.  Intensely perfumed aromas of candied red fruits, licorice and potpourri, with a peppery topnote.  Broad and pliant yet lively too, offering sappy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that gain sweetness with air.  Closes on a sweet note, with a whiplash of juicy red fruit and excellent persistence.
