About Pride Mountain Vineyards
Nestled above the Spring Mountain fog, on the Napa-Sonoma county line, Pride Mountain Vineyard sits on a former 340-acre agricultural Summit Ranch. In 1989, when Jim and Carolyn Pride purchased the spread they planned on growing grapes to sell, but soon caught the bug and built a winery.
89 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2013
(no malolactic fermentation): Aromatic nose combines peach, licorice, lichee, fresh herbs and a hint of tropical fruits. Subtle, dry and restrained, showing notes of herbs, minerals and lichee and a complicating saline quality. Just a tad pinched on the back end but fresh and subtle, and nicely hiding its 14.2% alcohol. Steve Pride describes this wine as "our new style of viognier," as these vines are now being harvested earlier and the wine does not get any new oak.
