For those that love Syrah like me, this wine is the real deal! It's a bit tight when first opened but after 45 minutes it springs to life. A real power house. It's a great find since so many Syrah's seem to be just run of the middle these days. Should of bought a case!

Bear with me, I have no training in wine tasting and I do not have a wardrobe of fruit words. I will have to describe this just like an ignorant savage! This is a fascinating 2 hinged flavor. The anterior part is all silken delectability joined to a tannic rasp. Leave it in a glass for a few hours and the tannins go away but it totally deflates and becomes dull. Leave it in a bottle for 1 day and it's all silk, but not as fine as it will be. I'm just beginning to know how a person can anticipate that a wine will be excellent in a few years. This is one. However, I'm going to have to deeply hide, yet remember, the 10 remaining bottles. I already want another just thinking about it! Yet, I can anticipate the regret that's already coming in 3 years when 10 is all there is...
Just a baby - needs time

I am scratching my head wondering how anyone could rate this wine a "1". It was very tight at opening but after 3 houes of decanting, the nose was exceptional dispalying notes of plumb and dark cherry. Its still a little rough simply due to its youth, but over time this wine will develop into a much mellower, top notch syrah. I enjoyed it, but I'll wait a few years before opening another bottle. If you pull the cork on this wine, I recommend 3 hours minimum of decanting. Very happy to have this in my cellar.

When we first opened the wine, strongly alcoholic and thick like syrup. As we drank more over the course of the evening, it definitely opened up. I agree with a previous reviewer that it seems like a wine that will age well and needs time. Strong dark fruits and coffee / chocolate flavors. Hate to give it a 3-star rating when I think it will be better in a year, but it's a 3 now.
