(from the Grand Maupertuis section of Clos-Vougeot, close to Grands-Echezeaux):  Bright red-ruby.  Wild aromas of black cherry, earth, pepper and flowers.  Silky, rich and graceful, offering full ripeness and harmonious acidity.  Most impressive today on the very long, perfumed finish, which features utterly fine-grained tannins and a suggestion of menthol.
