Dark purple.  Heady dark berry compote, licorice and smoky Indian spice scents are enlivened by a peppery, spicy nuance.  Offers intense black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter with air and show impressive depth.  Supple tannins come on late and add shape to the long, smooth, smoke-tinged finish.  This wine's opulent character reminded me a lot of a 2009 from the region.
