(30% new oak):  Good dark red.  Cherry, blackberry, licorice and spices on the pure nose.  Sweet and fine-grained, with enticing dark berry and chocolate flavors complicated by a light saline element.  Finishes with slightly dusty tannins and a repeating note of licorice.  Rather polite for this cuvee and nicely balanced.
