Improved with age
I had my last bottle of this with a group of friends last summer, We had sampled several reds, cabernet, syrah, Zin and then this was opened and everyone said "ah!" definiteley the hit of the evening, luscious Zin fruit without cloying notes, elegantly balanced, apparently we had drunk the other 11 too early.
A steal of a Zin
I made the mistake of ordering two different batches of this wine from WineAccess and I have to say this is one of the best zins i have tasted in years.
Big berry taste and a touch of smokiness as the other reviewer noted. This is what Zinfandels should (and always used to) taste like. Great bottle for the price.
Loaded with berries and a smokiness on the finish. Great bargain
Wow! Now that is a Zin
What a pleasant experience from the Alexander Valley! I'll save the graphic description - but will let you in that I'm on the hunt for more! The price is right!!!
A full-bodied, but supple and refreshing wine. Not sweet or syrupy, but no bitterness or astringency either. Depth of flavor with real varietal character. This is what Zinfandel should taste like. An excellent wine.
A pleasantly complex, full bodied wie. Easy to drink with a variety of food, and shared with a lot of people!
very nice wine for the price. recommended for anyone who wants a red Zinfandel.
Great flavors, great price.
It's going to be hard to find such a fruity, smooth zinfandel for the price this wine costs. Absolutely delicious.
Excellent, especially for the price.
La Storia may 2013
We had to decant this wine to get even close to the tasting notes. But when we did, wow! This was a great purchase and tremendous value. Glad I got the case.
Viva La Storia!

I'm giving this wine 4.5 stars. At less than $20/bottle, this is one outstanding wine. I love the dark cherry and the plumb notes. I love the texture, and the finish. The bottle is also quite nice - one that you almost hate to throw away. On the QPR scale, this a 5 all the way. Very pleased with this purchase.
Very nice, extremely smooth
Redux today and glad I did.......
WA got it right with....."powerful, yet perfectly balanced and light on its feet". Not a powerful overly peppery or syrupy zin. Halfway through my first case just got another today. My go to zin with Cline's Evangelho right there, too.
Have been to this vineyard myself. My girl was a member of the wine club. This vintage and and varietal is one of if not my favorite from this winemaker. Quality, quality, quality.......a fantastic zin. You won't be disappointed. Redux can't come soon enough.
If you like sweet red wine this is for you. I was blown away by the sweetness. Not exactly what I was expecting. I've had some jammy Zins but this goes beyond. I think with time much of the flavors will come together and will become a very pleasant wine however it's not my style.
Drinkable but lackluster
Nothing really intersting here. Save it for guests after the good stuff had been consumed
Not up to La Storia standards which should be above average.
Shy! Needs time to open up.
Reserved Zin with defined oak and delineated fruit. Not opulent, not hedonistic. Serious wine which is hard to come by for Zins. Still young. Needs 6-12 months to meld together.
Almost a winner...
This wine was probably left on the vine about 1-2 weeks too long. It's just slightly hot. The fruit is ripe with black cherry and black raspberry. The word "black" keeps coming to mind as the result of it being a little hot with the alcohol content.
