About Etude Wines
Tony Soter, who now makes excellent Pinot Noir in Oregon under his Soter Vineyards label, laid the groundwork at Etude before selling it to the Beringer-Blass conglomerate. Current winemaker, Jon Priest, continues to make velvety, suave, immediately enjoyable Pinots that are characterized by red fruits, spices, forest floor scents and particularly fine-grained tannins.

Good bright, dark red. Raspberry, dark cherry, musky coffee, smoke and earth on the nose. Rich, dense and sweet, with very good sappiness and depth to the raspberry, black cherry, spice and mineral flavors. Conveys a cooler-climate character and a more tightly coiled spring than the Deer Camp bottling. The sappy finish is accented by herbs and spices.
