90-92 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - March/April 2013

Vivid ruby.  Pungent, textbook syrah aromas of dark berry preserves, olive tapenade, violets and anise, with a smoky overtone. Sappy and precise, offering chewy black raspberry and cassis flavors and exotic floral pastille and spicecake elements.  Silky tannins add grip and focus to a long, spicy, appealingly sweet finish.  I find this wine approachable now.
