(sourced from vines that are reportedly over 60 years old; raised in barriques, 20% of them new):  Lurid ruby.  Explosive aromas of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, violet and spicecake.  Sappy, dense and suave, offering energetic flavors of dark berry preserves, licorice and candied violet.  Finishes with very good length and silky, harmonious tannins.
