(from Bessardes, just below the Hermitage chapel and a completely granitic site; 100% new demi-muids for fermentation followed by new barriques for aging): Vivid purple. A wild, highly perfumed bouquet offers candied red and dark berries, Asian spices, minerals and violet. Juicy, penetrating cherry-vanilla and blueberry flavors show impressive clarity and gain sweetness with air. Smooth and spicy on the lingering finish, which is firmed by fine-grained, youthful tannins.
